Monitoring Tests for Relapsed Multiple Myeloma Prognosis

There are many monitoring tests for relapsed multiple myeloma prognosis. In general, they can be divided into four main categories: blood tests, urine tests, bone evaluation, and bone marrow. The detailed list is as follows:

– Blood tests: chemistry panel, routine blood counts, myeloma protein measurements, liver function test, C-reactive protein, serum erythropoietin level

– Urine tests: creatinine clearance, total protein, immunoelectrophoresis, electrophoresis, and routine urinalysis

– Bone evaluation: skeletal survey, DEXA scan, PDG/PET scan for the whole body, and MRI/CT scan

– Bone marrow: biopsy, aspiration, special testing, and FISH abnormalities [3]
