Parts of Medicare

Medicare consists of 4 parts:

– Part A covers inpatient care or hospital-related services. If you go to the hospital, this part will cover all of the associated expenses. No premiums are required for most people with low income levels. However, you may need to pay a small premium per month if you have high income levels.

– Part B covers outpatient care and general medical care. These include mental health services, different kinds of screenings and tests, medical supplies, and most preventative services. This plan requires a premium, which depends on income levels.

– Part C covers all services and benefits in part A and part B, along with some other benefits, such as dental, hearing, vision, drug coverage, and more. There may be some extra fees, including deductibles and copays.

– Part D covers prescription medications.[2]
