– Flat or raised
These lesions can be found on the legs, flanks, trunks, and surrounding areas. While small-plaque parapsoriasis is chronic, it tends to be benign and does not develop into cancer. This type also has a sub-type called digitate dermatosis, which cause thin and long lesions on the body’s sides. [3]
Signs and Symptoms of Large-Plaque Parapsoriasis
Skin lesions caused by large-plaque parapsoriasis may have the following features:
– Typically larger than 5 centimeters in size
– Either brown or brown-red in color
– Irregular shapes
They can be found on parts of the body that are not exposed to sunlight, such as the thighs, under the breasts, under the buttocks, as well as the buttocks. Large-plaque parapsoriasis would develop into cancer in approximately 30 percent of reported cases. [4]
