Main Components of Blood
Human blood is basically made up of many different components. These include:
– Platelets that help with blood clotting
– White blood cells that help with fighting infection
– Red blood cells that help with transporting oxygen
– Plasma that provides the body with hormones and nutrients.
– Antibodies in plasma that are used by the immune system to fight bacteria or virus
– Antigens, which are sugars or proteins on the outside of red blood cells [1]
