How to Perform CPR with Breaths for Children
Below are basic steps to perform CPR with breaths for children:
– Step 1: Do 30 chest compressions at a rate of between 100 and 120 times each minute. Use the one-hand method for small children and both hands for older ones.
– Step 2: Lift your chin and tilt your head to open the airway.
– Step 3: Blow into the mouth of the children for one second and see whether the chest rises. Let the air come out of the mouth before the next blow.
– Step 4: Keep alternating chest compressions with breathing until the child breathes again or when medical services arrive. [9]
