Avoid Comedogenic Products
The term comedogenic basically refers to products that tend to block the skin pores and cause blackheads. There is not an official definition, but there are many ingredients in skincare products that can make you more susceptible to this health issue. For instance, many oils could be comedogenic. The same goes for sunscreen and many other makeup or skin-care options. Since the FDA does not regulate the term, companies can claim their products safe to use. However, it is still better to look for the phrase “oil-free” or “noncomedogenic” on the label. [4]
