What is Synovial Sarcoma?

Diagnosis

A physical exam is needed to diagnose synovial sarcoma. The doctor will look for any sign of a tumor or mass and other symptoms. Some imaging tests can provide a more detailed look in the affected areas. These include a bone scan, MRI scan, ultrasound, CT scan, or X-ray. If a suspicious mass is detected, a biopsy can be done to confirm the presence of cancerous cells. You might also go through cytogenetics, a genetic test to show any changes in chromosome 18 and X.[4]
