Complications
Early diagnosis and treatment are important to prevent severe complications from orbital cellulitis. Some common complications include hearing loss, vision loss, sepsis or blood infection, intracranial abscess, cavernous sinus thrombosis, or meningitis. In young children or people with compromised immune systems, there might be more serious issues. Also, they are often at a higher risk of developing complications because bacteria can penetrate and spread more easily. [9]
