What Is EGFR-positive Lung Cancer and How Is It Treated?

Signs and Symptoms of EGFR-Positive Lung Cancer

EGFR-positive lung cancer does not have any unique signs. Instead, people with the condition may have symptoms similar to those in other forms of lung cancer. It is hard to notice these signs until cancer cells have spread to other body parts. Possible signs in the early stages include a hoarse voice, chest pain that gets worse with coughing or deep breathing, coughing up rust-colored sputum or blood, persistent cough, tiredness, weakness, shortness of breath, unexpected weight loss, loss of appetite, wheezing, and recurring infections, such as pneumonia or bronchitis. In more advanced cases, the disease may lead to dizziness, leg or arm numbness or weakness, headache, bone pain, seizures, balance issues, swollen lymph nodes, or jaundice. [5]
