Symptoms of Atopic Dermatitis

This is the most common type of eczema. It often occurs in childhood and improves over time by adulthood. Those people with atopic dermatitis also have hay fever and asthma. Typical symptoms include:

– The rash usually appears in the creases of the knees or elbows

– Small bumps might show up and leak fluid when you scratch them

– Skin in the affected areas might become thicker or turn darker or lighter

– The skin might become infected when you scratch it

– Babies usually have the rash on the cheeks and scalp [2]
