When growths caused by tuberous sclerosis develop on your lungs, they would result in some breathing problems. Several common issues include shortness of breath and coughing, particularly with exercise and physical activity. Those benign tumors tend to be more common in females than in males. The best way to diagnose the condition is to take a PFT or pulmonary function test.
