Tetanus: Causes, Symptoms and Treatments

Wear Inappropriate Footwear

Many cases of tetanus occur when people step on something sharp that is covered in contaminated dirt or animal feces. Those components contain the spores of the C. tetani bacteria, which causes tetanus. For this reason, it is better to wear sturdy and durable footwear with thick soles, particularly when you are working in rural areas or farms. Avoid wearing sandals or flip-flops while walking in shallow water or on the beach. Also, it is advisable to protect the hands with thick gloves. [3]
