What Are STDs?
STDs stands for sexually transmitted diseases. These are very common medical infections that can be passed from person to person through sexual activity during, anal, oral, or vaginal sex. Intimate physical contact can also be a major risk factor, but this is not a very common cause. Common STDs include chlamydia, hepatitis, herpes, HIV/AIDs, HPV, syphilis, and trichomoniasis. In many cases, STDs may not cause symptoms or only cause mild problems. That’s why many people with these diseases may not notice their presence. Early diagnosis is important to get proper treatments and prevent further complications. STDs can be prevented and cured. Therefore, it is important to practice safe sex to protect yourself and your partner.
