Neck Swelling
Neck swelling is often the earliest symptom of Hashimoto’s disease. You might feel this sign in the front side due to an enlarged thyroid. Make sure to take note if your throat gets swollen. You can check it on your own by tilting the head back when looking in a mirror, then swallowing a sip of fluid. In addition, user your fingertips to feel the thyroid. A normal thyroid should feel smooth. In most cases, it will not trigger any painful sensation. You can also have difficulty swallowing. [2]
