2Abdominal Pain
Duodenal ulcers might lead to abdominal pain several hours after a meal. You often feel this sensation in the upper section of the abdomen, anywhere between the navel and the breastbone. It would also spread to the back area. Many people describe the pain as gnawing, burning, or dull. It is less commonly stabbing or intense. In many cases, abdominal pain tends to become worse in the morning or at night when the stomach is empty. However, the intensity can vary and the duration could last between several minutes to several hours. The symptom often responds well to foods or medications that alleviate stomach acid, but it might recur when the effects wear off. [2]
