Staph Infection Causes

Using Tampons Too Long

In many cases, keeping a tampon in your vagina for too long would also cause a special form of staph infection called toxic shock syndrome. To reduce this risk, you should use it for 4 to 8 hours at a single time and then change it immediately. If possible, it is better to alternate between sanitary napkins and tampons. Also, choose tampon products with a lower absorbency to create less of a possible breeding ground for bacteria. [9]
