Rotator Cuff Injury – Symptoms & Causes

Bursitis

Bursitis is another common cause of a rotator cuff injury. It is a painful health issue that inflames the bursae. These small sacs are filled with fluids, which can cushion the muscles, tendons, and bones around the rotator cuff. Most of the bursitis is located in the shoulder, along with the hip and elbow. In addition to repetitive motions, aging and some medical conditions can increase the risk of developing bursitis. These include obesity, diabetes, gout, as well as rheumatoid arthritis. Resting is the simplest treatment option. It allows the affected joints to have enough time to recover and prevents further trauma. [6]
