Infections
Some infectious diseases would lead to rheumatoid arthritis. These include mycobacterium, HCV or hepatitis C, E. coli or Escherichia coli, as well as EBV or Epstein-Barr. The risk is especially in those people with genetical factors that make them predisposed to those conditions. When the viruses or bacteria causing those diseases to penetrate the body, they will activate and confuse your immune system. As a result, other joints and tissues would be attacked, leading to inflammation and swelling. [7]
