Being obese or overweight can be a risk factor for developing psoriatic arthritis, especially in those with psoriasis. The more weight you carry, the likelihood is higher. Studies have also suggested that obesity is associated with more serious symptoms and reduced effects of some medications. This is mainly because the dose-dependent effect of fat cells on the effectiveness of biologics and the condition’s activity.
