Papular Eczema: Symptoms, Causes, and Treatment

Causes of Papular Eczema

Papular eczema is an autoinflammatory disease, which happens when the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy cells of the body. Scientists have not found out why this response occurs in some individuals. A possible explanation is some issues with a gene that produces filaggrin, the protein that protects the skin which would result in the disease. However, more studies are still needed to verify this assumption. Certain factors may trigger a flare-up of popular eczema, these include scents, dyes, smoke, pollen, laundry detergent, and dry air.
