Causes of Nephroptosis
Nephroptosis is a congenital disease. It means that people are born with this condition. In general, the kidneys are quite mobile like other internal organs in the body. They may shift several centimeters from the original position without any issues. Nevertheless, nephroptosis cause one or both kidneys to move downward more than five centimeters when you stand up from a lying posture. It is still not fully understood what exactly causes this disease. Scientists believe that the movement may be linked to a lack of support from the connective tissue or some structures around the kidneys. [5]
