Multiple Myeloma – Diagnosis and Treatment

6 Treatment Options for Multiple Myeloma

Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy is the standard treatment for most forms of cancer, including multiple myeloma. Some common agents used for this process include Doxil or Liposomal Doxorubicin, Adriamycine or Doxorubicin, Cytoxan or Cyclophosphamide, and Algerian or Melphalan. By combining those substances, chemotherapy is usually very effective at controlling and suppressing the growth of cancerous cells in multiple myeloma. Nevertheless, this is not a fully curative method even when there are several case reports with full remission. [7]
