Triplet Therapy
As the name implies, triple therapy is the combination of three different drugs to treat multiple myeloma. This is a preferred option since separate substances have different mechanisms. By using them at the same time, you would target cancerous cells in multiple approaches. Currently, the most commonly used triplet includes dexamethasone, bortezomib, and lenalidomide. Dexamethasone is a steroid, bortezomib is a form of the proteasome inhibitor, while lenalidomide is a type of immunomodulator. [11]
