Surgery
If other treatments do not work or the symptoms of your Meniere’s disease seem to get worse, then surgery might also be an option to consider. Some forms of surgery for this disease include
– Endolymphatic sac decompression: a small part of the bone will be removed from the endolymphatic sac
– Vestibular nerve section: the vestibular nerve will be cut
– Labyrinthectomy: a part of your inner ear is removed surgically
– Vestibular rehabilitation therapy: some activities and exercises are introduced to provide benefits for people with balance issues due to vertigo episodes. The main goal is to help the brain and body regain their abilities to process balance information correctly. [14]
