Lewy Body Dementia – Symptoms, Causes & Treatments

Sleep Issues

Sleep problems are not uncommon in people with Lewy body dementia. However, they are usually undiagnosed. You can visit a sleep specialist to diagnose and deal with these specific issues. Some sleep-related disorders in the list include insomnia or trouble falling asleep; REM sleep behavior disorder, a condition in which people tend to act out dreams when they are sleeping; restless leg syndrome, a problem in which people feel the urge to move their legs while resting; and excessive daytime sleepiness, which makes the patients sleep more than two hours during the day.
