Stages of Chronic Leukemia

Chronic leukemia can be staged based on the Rai system as follow:

– Stage 0: high numbers of white blood cells, no physical signs

– Stage 1: swollen lymph nodes and high numbers of white blood cells

– Stage 2: anemia, swollen lymph nodes, and high numbers of white blood cells

– Stage 3: anema, high number of white blood cells, enlarged spleen or liver, swollen lymph nodes.

– Stage 4: anemia, high numbers of white blood cells, low platelet count, enlarged spleen or liver, or swollen lymph nodes. [9]
