In a bowel biopsy, a small tubed will be inserted down the throat. Though it seems to be scary for many people, this procedure does not actually hurt thanks to the use of local anesthetic. After that, a small tissue sample will be taken from small intestinal lining to test for celiac disease and lactose intolerance.
