Eczema and Other Medical Conditions
Eczema is not a sign of other conditions. Nevertheless, the symptoms may occur alongside or resemble those of other illnesses. These include:
– Hives: It mainly occurs due to allergies and causes large welts on the skin
– Psoriasis: This is an autoimmune condition that leads to quick multiply of skin cells
– Scabies: It is caused by a mite infestation on the skin
– Cutaneous T-cell lymphoma: This form of cancer affects the white blood cells
– Ringworm: This is an infection of the skin triggered by a fungus
In some cases, eczema can be part of a group of allergic disorders, including food allergies, allergic rhinitis, and asthma. Also, eczema symptoms tend to be more serious when you have a primary immunodeficiency disorder, such as ipex syndrome, hyper IgE syndrome, or Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome. [5]
