Fungal Infections
Acute myeloid leukemia affects the production of blood cells, which weaken the immune system. As a result, it can be more difficult to fight against fungal infections. Common fungal infections that affect include:
– Nail infections would be associated with a fungal infection on the skin. They may cause the nail to fall off, break, crack, or change color.
– Candida may cause a rash on the skin.
