Hip Bursitis Symptoms

Painful to Touch

One of the most typical sign of hip bursitis is a radiating pain, mainly located at the outside of your lower hip. There is a bursa around this area, which can be inflamed when the condition occurs. You may gently apply pressure to this area to check whether it is painful or not. If left untreated, this pain would radiate over time down to other parts of the body, such as the groin, buttock, or lower back. In more severe cases, it may even extend down to the knee or outside of the thigh. [3]

Pain with Movement

People with hip bursitis often have pain when they move around, especially after sitting or lying for a while. Try to notice how the hip feels when you perform daily tasks. In some cases, the sensations would increase after cycling, running, standing, or walking for an extended period of time. In addition, climbing stairs or squatting would lead to pain with bursitis. Even simple tasks may cause this simple in more advanced cases, especially when they are repetitive. [4]
