High Platelet Count Blood Causes

Malignancy

Malignancy or cancer can lead to thrombocytosis, which is a major cause of high platelet count in the blood. It is basically the division of abnormal cells without control. These parts would spread to other body parts through the lymph and blood systems. This condition is often more common in some solid tumors, such as colorectal cancer, ovarian cancer, liver cancer, or lung cancer. Elevated platelet count mostly occurs in people with chronic leukemia. [5]
