Cysticercosis

Another common cause of epilepsy in many people is cysticercosis. This is an infectious disease caused by the eggs of intestinal tapeworms. They would penetrate the body and spread to different parts of the body. When tapeworms reach your brain, it would affect some nerves and trigger epilepsy or seizures. To prevent this problem, you should cook foods thoroughly, especially pork. Also, you should wash your hands carefully before and after touching foods. Cysticercosis is more common in developed countries. Some other infectious conditions would also trigger epilepsy, such as encephalitis, AIDS, or meningitis. [4]
