Wheezing
Wheezing, particularly during expiration, can be a typical condition in people with emphysema. This is a condition in which you make whistling, high-pitched sounds when breathing. It often happens in COPD patients during physical activities or when some episodes of worsened signs occur. You can notice those abnormal breath sounds best when breathing out. Wheezing is mainly caused when there is a decrease in the diameter of your airways due to a mucus blockage. [5]
