Disinterest
When they reach 1 year old, normal babies tend to respond when their parents call their names or point somewhere. However, autistic children might be disinterested in these sounds. They also find it difficult to understand what others are feeling or thinking. In some cases, some autistic children might be unusually distressed, especially when you see other people upset.
