Postnasal Drip
Postnasal drip is the dripping of extra mucus in the throat. When you experience a seasonal allergy or a cold, the membranes in the nose respond by releasing more mucus than usual. This runny and watery substance will eventually drip down your throat and cause a dry cough. Since postnasal drip could tickle some nerves, it can also cause a runny nose, difficulty swallowing, or sore throat.
