Ice
After an injury causing a dislocated shoulder, you should apply ice to the affected area as soon as possible. Low temperatures can cause small blood vessels to constrict, thus limiting the amount of blood to the injured region. This subsequently reduces inflammation and pain. You can apply ice for around 15 to 20 minutes each time to get the expected effects. Make sure to wrap ice in a plastic bag, towel, or cloth to prevent skin irritation or frostbite. [12]
