Risks
Though this scan is used to assess patients with chronic liver diseases or conditions, it cannot be used to assess the patients with the following issues:
Fluid in the abdomen (ascites, variceal bleeding or hepatic encephalopathy)
Right heart failure
Inability to lie flat
Severe obesity
The result of a Fibro scan is usually available in a week or two.
