Lifestyle
Colon cancer is associated with many lifestyle risk factors. Alcohol consumption would put your body at higher risk. A diet that is high in cholesterol and fat, particularly red meats, has also been proved to cause colon cancer. Ideally, you should not consume more than 500g of red meat each week. Go for more whole grains, veggies, and fruits, instead. Another possible trigger is smoking. Harmful substances, especially nicotine, from tobacco products would allow cancerous cells to grow and spread in your colon. [12]
