Sores
Ulcers, also known as sores, are painful and small. They often show up on the inner area of the cheeks, but you can also find them under the tongue. In most cases, you have an ulcer after biting the tongue accidentally or eating something sharp and rough. This hurts a lot of nerve endings and leads to inflammation. Hormonal imbalance, anxiety, and stress can also cause sores. They can disappear on their own after one week or even more. If the duration is longer, it could be a symptom of oral cancer. Keep in mind to consult your healthcare provider to get an accurate diagnosis. [6]
