Fungal Pneumonia
Fungal pneumonia is associated with fungi present in the surrounding environment. They may penetrate the lungs and start multiplying. This type is more common in those with chronic health issues or a weakened immune system. Common causes include:

– Cryptococcus fungus can be found in the soil and only cause pneumonia in those with a compromised immune system
– Histoplasmosis fungus can be found in bat and bird feces
