Red Tonsils
This symptom is quite common in every case of strep throat. Even before you are diagnosed with this disease, you get to see the evidence by discovering that the two masses of lymphatic tissue on either side of your pharynx are red and sore due to a bacterial infection called streptococcus. This symptom is what makes strep throat inconveniencing and discomforting. Although red tonsils are also associated with sore throat, sore throat can always vanish after a few days, even without treating it. However, if this symptom remains for more than two weeks, then you need to consult your doctor as this might be a sign of strep throat.[2]
