Anticonvulsants
Anticonvulsants are seizure medication and may help with alleviating pain. Pregabalin (Lyrica) is the first anti-seizure medication approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Also, Gabapentin, another anti-seizure drug, helps minimize nerve pain, may be recommended. But these drugs also come with possible side effects including weight gain, dizziness, dry mouth, and swelling. [3]
