Neck and Shoulder Tension
The muscles are considered to be one of the most important factors to influence migraine headache. Neck and shoulder tension is a pressure, stiffness or soreness in the neck and shoulder region; the neck is stiff, and the spinal nerves are irritated. This soreness radiates pain to the back of the head, which results in headaches. Tensed muscles in the jaw, shoulder and neck region can cause headache by constricting blood flow to the head and scalp. [5]
