10 Symptoms of Pheochromocytoma

Face Paleness

Paleness refers to the abnormal lightness of the skin color in comparison with the usual complexion. It occurs when there is a reduced number of red blood cells or decreased oxygen and blood flow in the body. Many people with pheochromocytoma experience this symptom due to the effect of the tumor on the adrenal gland. In most cases, the skin on the face can turn pale, but surrounding parts could also be affected. Exact signs can vary in different people, depending on the amount of melanin, skin’s thickness, and amount of blood flow. It is better to consult your doctor as this is a possible sign of pheochromocytoma or other conditions, such as frostbite, bloodstream infection, or serious anemia.[5]
