Diet and Exercise
In some cases, those with psoriasis tend to have extra weight and higher risk of type 2 diabetes or heart disease. A good combination of regular exercise and healthy diet may help reduce the risk. Aim to move the body at least 30 minutes a day with simple activities, such as walking, cycling, or swimming. Some dietary tips to follow:
– Drinking a lot of water to keep the skin well moisturized
– Avoiding sugar or sweetened products
– Reducing the consumption of trans fats in many processed and fast foods
– Consuming more foods with anti-inflammatory components, such as seeds, nuts, fruits, fatty fish, and veggies [6]
