Breast Cancer Statistics
It is estimated that up to 268,000 new cases of breast cancer would be diagnosed in the country in 2019. Among these, around 40,000 women can die from this disease. The figures for men are expected to be 2600 and 500, respectively. The good news is that the survival rates for breast cancer are rising. In 1975, around 75% of women survived this condition. From 2008 to 2014, this number increased to nearly 91%. However, survival rates can vary greatly, depending on the diagnosed stages, ranging from 27% in metastatic cancer to 99% in early-stage and localized cancers. [9]
