Tests to Diagnose Duodenum Conditions
Some tests can be done to help diagnose conditions associated with the duodenum. These include:
– A biopsy to look for duodenal or cancer cells
– A urea breath test to check for H. pylori
– A stool or blood sample to check for H. pylori
– An EGD or upper endoscopy to look for the underlying cause of bloody stool, vomiting, nausea, heartburn, or abdominal pain. This procedure enables your doctor to see the duodenum’s lining and find out any signs of bleeding, inflammation, or ulcers [10]
