Saddle Sores – Symptoms, Causes, Treatments & More

How to Manage Saddle Sores in the Long Term

If you cycle on a regular basis, calluses may eventually develop in the saddle area. This can actually help as it will allow you to ride more comfortable and longer without the risk of saddle sores. However, when you get them, it is advisable to stop this activity for a short time until they heal completely. If you notice symptoms early, they tend to disappear in a couple of days. However, more serious cases of saddle sores may take several weeks to heal. Talk with your healthcare provider if these lesions recur more frequently, last more than 2 weeks, or cause pain that worsen over time. It may indicate the presence of an infection. [12]
