When to Seek Medical Treatment
In most cases, minor skin ulcerations and chafing do not require medical treatment. Nevertheless, see your healthcare provider immediately in the following cases:
– Saddle sores keep recurring frequently due to underlying problem with your sensitive skin.
– Symptoms last for more than 2 weeks or even more, and become worse.
– You notice signs of an infection, such as chills, fever or pus. This may happen when the skin is cracked, thus allowing bacteria to penetrate.
Your doctor may prescribe some antibiotics, including topical creams and oral medications, to help treat the symptoms. If furuncles develop, they may have to drain them. [8]
