Possible Interactions with Rexulti
Rexulti would interact with certain types of medications that enzymes can break down in the liver. This is because Rexulti is also broken down in this organ by these enzymes. Also, some drugs would increase Rexulti’s effects. These include antidepressants (duloxetine, paroxetine, and bupropion), antibiotics (clarithromycin), quinidine, and antifungal medications (fluconazole). Some other medications may reduce Rexulti’s effect by removing it more quickly than usual. These include seizure drugs (phenytoin, carbamazepine) and antibiotic rifampin. Rexulti would interact with supplements and herbs as well. For instance, St. John’s wort would reduce this medication’s effects. [9]
